The Power of Persuasion

christineHi, I am Christine Schofield-Jones, PR and Communication Manager at Sika.

It’s all too easy for businesses to churn out the same old product literature and standard press releases but many forget the importance, and indeed the power, of third party endorsement; whether that’s through the use of a project case study, an award nomination, or a customer testimonial.

Manufacturers, main contractors, small installers – everyone can benefit from PR and who better to sell your product or service than your satisfied customers. All it takes is a simple quote, or better still a short video soundbite with your client explaining why they chose to work with you and how it benefitted them.

Industry awards take this third party endorsement one step further by rewarding those companies who submit successful applications with a seal of approval decided by a whole panel of independent figureheads. Not only does this provide a multitude of PR opportunities but it will also make a company stand out in an often crowded market place.

For us case studies are the bread and butter of many of our marketing activities, providing visual evidence of our products in situ and associating our business with the many big name blue chip companies we supply, but most importantly telling the story of how we support our customers.

So no matter what you sell, or how big or small your company is, remember this; tell me a fact and I’ll learn, tell me a truth and I’ll believe, but tell me a story and it will live in my heart forever.
